Fox Creek Middle School Finances New Campus With $21 Million in JEDA Bonds
North Augusta, SC — Edgefield County
The South Carolina Jobs-Economic Development Authority (JEDA) has issued an Educational Facilities Revenue Note in the principal amount of $20,910,936 to finance construction of a new middle school to join the existing Fox Creek High School in serving students from Aiken and Edgefield counties.
The tax-exempt issue will be used for short-term financing to build, furnish and equip the new Fox Creek Middle School at 165 Shortcut Road in North Augusta. The new middle school will serve grades 6-8 and is expected to open in fall 2026 alongside the existing high school campus.

“Access to JEDA financing is a critical step in enabling us to build our new middle school at the lowest possible cost, our most significant move forward since the high school itself opened in 2004.”
Josh Trahan, Executive Director at Fox Creek High School
“We were excited to help Fox Creek School pair a low-interest, tax-exempt construction loan with a long-term USDA permanent financing to achieve their goal of lowest cost short-term and long-term financing. What an honor it was to assist the school,” said Alan Linkous, Bond Counsel at Howell Linkous & Nettles in Charleston.

“This financing reflects JEDA’s longstanding commitment to support schools that are deeply rooted in and a vital part of their communities. We’re honored to help Fox Creek take this important step,” said Jesse A. Smith, Executive Director of JEDA in Columbia.
