Harry A. Huntley, CPA
Executive Director
Harry Huntley joined JEDA in August 2008 as the Executive Director. He also serves as Executive Director of InvestSC, Inc., the designated investor group for the South Carolina Venture Capital Authority. Prior to this, Harry served as the Richland County Auditor, an elected position, for 18 years. His duties included property tax billings of over $500 million annually, assisting county and state officials develop tax policy, and solving individual taxpayer issues. As Auditor he served as President of the South Carolina Association of Auditors, Treasurers and Tax Collectors and was honored with their highest award for service.
Harry is a native of Columbia and a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a degree in finance and a master in business administration. He is a Certified Public Accountant and his career has also included banking, accounting, real estate sales and development, and securities.
Harry is married to Kathy McCuen of Columbia and has four children. He serves on the board of the South Carolina Junior Golf Foundation, Shandon United Methodist Church, South Carolina Administrative and Regulatory Law Association as well as other professional organizations. Harry also coaches the state championship golf team at AC Flora High School in Columbia.
Claudia Miller
Executive Assistant
Claudia Miller joined JEDA in January 2010 and serves as Executive Assistant for the SC Jobs-Economic Development Authority, where she provides administrative and operational functions for the company, and assists the Executive Director in its management.
Ms. Miller comes to JEDA with an extremely varied background. She spent 12 years in the legal arena, in positions of Practice Group Manager, Office Manager, Paralegal and Legal Assistant. Additionally, she worked in the financial arena as Due Diligence Coordinator for a financial services company; as Human Resources Recruiter; and as General Manager and Accountant. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland, European Division with a degree in Business Administration.
Claudia has been a resident of South Carolina since 2002. She is a native of Germany and is fluent in German. Prior to moving to South Carolina, she has lived in Hawaii, California, New Jersey, New York, Kentucky, Alabama and Germany. Claudia is married to Allan and lives in Ashe County, North Carolina. She has one daughter, Madison, who is a senior at Clemson University, and two stepchildren, Meghan and Ian.
Brenton J. Robertson, Esq.
JEDA Financial Advisory Services
Brent Robertson is Manager of Merchant Capital's South Carolina practice and serves as financial advisor and investment banker to local governments throughout the State. His credit expertise has been instrumental in rating upgrades and first-time ratings for numerous issuers under a variety of security structures.
In 2005, he served as investment banker on a Newberry County, South Carolina transaction which was recognized by "The Bond Buyer" as one of the Top 10 Deals of the year nationwide out of more than 13,900 public offerings. This transaction was pivotal in the County's receipt of the 2006 South Carolina Association of Counties J. Mitchell Graham Memorial Award.
Mr. Robertson has presented before the National Association of Bond Lawyers, the Independent Banks of South Carolina, the South Carolina Bankers Association, the Palmetto Public Finance Forum, the 2009 South Carolina Economic Stimulus Summit (co-sponsored by the Cities of Columbia and Charleston), the South Carolina City-County Managers Association, the South Carolina Municipal Finance Officers/Business License Officer's Association, the Georgia Association of Water Professionals, the Georgia Environmental Conference, and the Water Environment Federation. He has also contributed articles to municipal trade publications including ICMA Public Management Magazine.
Mr. Robertson graduated Phi Beta Kappa and with distinction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and was named to the Order of the Barristers upon receiving his J.D. from Southern Methodist University. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Cobb County (Georgia) Transit Advisory Board. Mr. Robertson holds FINRA Series 7 and 63 securities licenses.
